Teen buys 6 ducklings at the tractor supply store and cares for them in secret in her room for months before her parents find out: ‘My “teenage rebellion” phase’

Her parents said she wasn't allowed to get a duck, but this determined teenager decided that she was old enough to make her own decisions.

Teens can be very headstrong, believing wholeheartedly that they're 100% right and their "lame" and "boring" parents don't know better. Usually, teen rebellion results in infected piercings, bad bangs, and questionable fashion choices, but for this young woman, a girl determined to be a duck mom, her teen rebellion resulted in an entire flock of lovable ducklings.

Parents don't often let their kids take home farm animals as pets, usually opting for hamsters, kittens, or, if that kid is really lucky, a puppy. However, the heart wants what the heart wants, and this teen wanted a duck.

I can't blame her either! Not only are ducklings the most fluffy and adorable creatures on the planet, but they also imprint on whatever creature cares for them in adolescence. So in this case, when this teenager went to the tractor supply store and came home with a shoebox of ducklings, these little birds had found their new mama.

Of all of the livestock animals that would make an excellent house pet, ducks are way up there on my list. Quacking adorable, and oh-so-sweet, ducks are the perfect flapping, grass guzzling critter to add to the family tree. This young woman knew what she was doing when she decided to covertly bring a gaggle of birds into her parents' home, hoping that the ducks' innate cuteness would ultimately sway her parents' opinion.
Funnily enough, this teen's intuition was totally right because her parents both swooned at the sight of the ducks.
Whether it was from the shock of realizing they had a farm's-worth of ducks in their house or the realization that their teenager was completely right about her ability to care for and love a group of ducklings, the swoon was real. Although she went behind their backs and disobeyed them, this kind of teenage rebellion is the stuff parents dream of… Regardless, she may not be getting a new car for her birthday anymore, but at least she'll have 6 adorable ducks to cuddle with instead.
